Glass Mezzanine
John Horton: Design, Manufacture, Installation
Client: BMR
This steel and structural glass mezzanine was commissioned to provide an additional office area within a barn conversion in Kent. The glass floor not only allows natural light to pass through the mezzanine from above, but also has the effect of keeping the space below feeling open and airy. To maximize the usage of the available space, we also designed the custom made oak space saver staircase and shelves, to provide access to the mezzanine. The Balustrade is constructed from Laser cut uprights and round horizontal infill bars, capped with a round hardwood handrail.
